Protective Clothing
Within the world of uniforms there are some articles which require special handling due to their great technical complexity and because they need to meet strict European and international regulations. FECSA has set up a business line for this purpose which includes all those garments which offer ballistic, fire, infrared, anti-mine, nuclear, biological and chemical, etc. protection.
Although they spring from the two preceding business lines, they demand close collaboration, development and innovation by FECSA's different departments, as well as continual research and the carrying out of numerous laboratory tests and the tailoring of prototypes for field trials.
PROJECTS
- New methods for the creation of multifunctional fabrics (ultraviolet, infrared and fire resistant screen). Subsidised by ERDF and the Madrid Development Institute.
- Development and design of new multilayer textiles to improve the thermal protection and comfort of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for firefighters.
- R&D&I of combined materials and structures against the high and medium velocity ballistic impact.
- NANOEFFECT PROJECT. EEC Framework Project.
- Methods for the development of technical textiles for applications in nuclear, biological and chemical protection equipment.
